Requirements:

  • Must be a Nigerian student studying in Nigeria.
  • Must be enrolled in a “federal” government university.
  • Must be studying any of the following courses: chemical engineering, biology, microbiology, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, plant biology, or related courses.
  • Must be advancing to the final year of undergraduate study (completed 300 Level for a 4-year course, or completed 400 Level for a 5-year course).
  • Must have a last sessional CGPA of at least 4.3 on a 5.0 scale, or 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must not be a recipient of any other scholarship.

Selection Process:

  • The scholarship balances need and merit.
  • The selection committee first looks for students with outstanding performance, then selects those with the most need.
  • Applicants are encouraged to apply if they meet the eligibility requirements.

How to Apply:

  1. Write a well-detailed statement of purpose (not longer than 2 pages) explaining your motivation for studying your course, future plans, challenges faced, intended research for your undergraduate project, plans after graduation, and how you plan to make an impact.
  2. Draft a well-structured CV/Resume and save it in PDF format.
  3. Obtain 2 letters of recommendation from lecturers or professors in your department, scan, and save in PDF format.
  4. Obtain a signed letter from your HOD or course advisor confirming that you are not a beneficiary of any other scholarship.
  5. Obtain a copy of your undergraduate transcript showing grades from 100 Level to your current level. Self-reported transcripts are accepted.
  6. Prepare a document stating the full amount of your tuition, start and end date of your final year of study, official deadline for payment of your school fee, and the title of your undergraduate project topic.

Requirements for ICCR Undergraduate Scholarship:

  • Must be a student living and studying in Nigeria.
  • Must be a final-year student enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution (public, select private, polytechnic).
  • A clear statement of purpose.
  • CGPA of 3.0/Cumulative grade of 65% or higher with academic records as attestation.
  • Must have a financial or economic need.

Application Documents:

Application should be complete in all respects, with all the required information and all necessary supporting documents, as listed below:

  • A recent passport-size photograph not more than 3.5×4.5cm (25kb).
  • Copies of all academic qualifications, certificates, and mark sheets.
  • Certificate of physical fitness in the prescribed form.
  • Recommendations/character certificates from the existing school/University.
  • Certified copies of relevant pages of the candidate’s valid passport.
  • Original certificates/documents must be carried by the Applicant if admitted for verification by the concerned University/Institute at the time of joining.
